My Story
Jodie grew up in West Auckland in a middle-class family with parents who worked, sometimes three jobs, to provide for their family. He was a typical kid, pushing the boundaries and getting into trouble. He spent his teenage years knowing better and really threw away his high school education, signing out of school at the end of his 5th form year.
After finishing school, Jodie worked numerous jobs with little direction but spent many years doing courier type work. In his early 20’s, against his fathers wishes, he obtained his class 2 drivers’ licence and would ultimately work his way up to a class 5 and find himself behind the wheel of some 44-tonne truck and trailer units. It was through driving trucks that his talents were recognised, and he was moved out of the cab and into an office.
Jodie found his niche in the management role and decided, at 30, that he would go back to school in pursuit of a business degree in management. In 2018, Jodie’s hard work and grades were recognised and he was awarded the Prime Ministers scholarship in Asia.
In January 2019, that scholarship saw him travel to Coimbatore, India on a 6-week business and supply chain study tour. This tour saw him visit numerous Indian businesses, doing short process analysis and offering recommendations for improvements. He then engaged in a 2-week internship at Ganga Hospital where he did a more in-depth observational analysis and produced a full report on his findings to present to the hospital hierarchy.
Back home, in New Zealand, Jodie’s final semester saw him do an internship at a great family owned business in West Auckland. His efforts there were recognised, and he was subsequently employed as their Operations Manager before having even completed his studies, he did complete his studies though, and graduated in September 2019. Jodie thoroughly enjoyed his role and had a passion for the business, but a substantial change in his personal life saw him regretfully give it up. That’s when Jandie Business Consulting was born.
